General Informations

Styro -wall is a storey height(vertical) ICF panel . They are use to build reinforced concrete walls by columns and beams structure.

.

This building panel, developped by a Canadian , named Ghislain Poirier, appeared in the Indian Ocean in 2008. A literary and artistic work was filed in Canada under the registration #1067867 for protect and secure intellectual property through copyright.

.

This storey height polystyrene panel flame retardant as 60-120 cm wide and 20 cm thick and varying height up to 3 meters, which are fitted and glued together vertically to form the walls of a building. The panel has a recess on the side edge and a slight protrusion on the opposite side edge and a horizontal recess of 20- 30 cm in the upper panels to form a continuous reinforced beam. Once erected the panels must be filled with concrete through the top. Each poles are filled with concrete and reinforced steel rod. It is the same for the horizontal beams that connect each poles in the upper walls and create a beam.

.

This construction allows implementations very fast and do not requires special lifting equipment. Only a pumper truck for the concrete is necessary to fill the interior panels if the equipement is available to reduce concrete fall and pressure. Performance implementation of such a principle is about 20-30 square meters of wall per day for a 3 guys team ( pouring concrete by hands). This construction technique by ICF , developed since the 1980s, have a big advantage of making in a single step the construction of reinforced concrete wall with thermal insulation and soundproofing.

.

To meet the construction standards, most countries, required a covered coating on both side.

.

The mechanical specification are:

.

: - carrying capacity per pole is 7.8 tons with 4 rebar of steel ( 4HA10 ) ;

.

: - resistance to brace a pole with the upper beam is 3000 N per pole ;

.

: - noise attenuation is about 48 dBA ( without regard to mitigating the interior and exterior coating);

.

: - energy efficiency of the panels is 5.4 m2K/W which saves energy and thereby reducing CO2 emissions.

.

NB Energy efficiency is obtained by the ratio of thickness ( in meters ) on the thermal conductivity λ (lambda ) of the material concerned . The lambda for 20 kg/m3 density polystyrene is : 0.037 WK / m.

.

This technique (ICF) of construction increase significantly around the world, because in addition to energy performance, polystyrene is part of sustainable development because it is recyclable, requires little energy to manufacturing and its implementation, allows the preservation of forests and reduction of CO2 emissions.

.

A greener way of living with the environment and reduce significantly the ecological footprint.

.

For our sake and those of future generations, be warned and greener in your consumer choices.

PANELS IMPLEMENTATION

Styro-wall panels  can be implemented very easily by home builders. With a team of 3 people you can implement 20 to 30 m2 of walls a day. The panels fit into each other without any other support device. The panels are numbered and it's easy. No need to work at heights, all the panels can be implemented without stool. Scaffolds are used only to fill the posts (12 x 12 cm) and beams with concrete.

Styro -wall is currently on the market, the fastiest system and easier to  implement. No professional skills required, just follow the right position of numbered panel.

see on the link below how fast Styro-wall is:
